Canada's electricity supply industry is expected to face critical supply gaps and with an increased demand for electricity as a result of:

• Aging of existing energy infrastructure.
• Changes in legislative and environmental agency directives resulting in restrictions and potential additional costs for emissions control systems for fossil fuel-fired generation.
• Inability of intermittent, non-firm, renewable energy from technologies such as solar powered generation and wind-powered generation to provide for continuous electricity generation to support base load demand.

• Focus on early-stage project development and maximization of financial return afforded to early-stage entrants.
